STATEMENT ON STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL VALUES &

The Constitution of Kenya 2010, section 132 obligates the President of Kenya to give a State of the Nation address on the progress the government is making in achieving the national values and principles of governance as outlined in section 10. The president is also obligated to show progress on how the country is fulfilling its international obligations as stipulated in the constitution section 2(5). On economic and social rights, Articles 41 addresses issues of labor relations and 43 speaks to rights to health, housing, food, water, social security and education as rights that Kenyan’s are entitled to enjoy and justifiable within the legal framework.

National Women’s Leaders Convention



The National Women’s Leaders Convention will be held on the 10th of March 2017 at the BOMAS of Kenya from 9.00am to 2.00pm. The Convention is the largest women’s non-partisan, political and multi-sectorial forum to marshal support for women's candidature for elective seats ahead of the general elections on the 8th of August 2017. The objective of the Convention is to demonstrate the Kenyan women’s political resolve in actualizing the constitutional 2/3rds gender principle and to endorse the declared women’s minimum demands. The Convention will also unveil the women's action plan for mobilizing and marshalling support for women aspirants for elections across the country. This has been organised by The National Women’s Steering Committee (NWSC), Community Advocacy and Awareness Trust (CRAWN Trust) and the Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW) and Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu Coalition
